In 2002 Paul founded Mid-Hudson VIP, an insurance agency dedicated to finding quality, affordable group insurance programs for private and public employers located throughout the Hudson Valley and Capital regions. Since its inception, Mid-Hudson VIP has created a portfolio of over 200 client businesses. The agency’s primary mission is to help companies find the best insurance coverage at the most competitive cost while providing prompt and reliable service to its customers.

Paul’s experience in the group health insurance market is impressive. As a manager for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield he was responsible for seven account representatives who handled over 1000 group accounts from Westchester to Albany County. His commitment to customer service enabled him to consistently exceed all annual retention objectives. Prior to his role as a manager, Paul spent 11 years maintaining large account business for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield in the 50 to 1500 group marketplace in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Paul’s experience and knowledge has made him a valuable commodity in the group insurance marketplace. He has been chosen to sit on the broker advisory boards for: CDPHP, MVP, and Oxford Healthcare. He is a member of the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Council of Industry of Southeast New York, and is active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU).  Out of the office, the former NCAA Swimming All American.  He is the father of three boys, and lives locally with his wife Mary in the Town of New Paltz.


Rose started with Mid-Hudson VIP in 2007 and has over 20 years experience in the group insurance market. Prior to joining Mid-Hudson VIP she was a Senior Sales Representative for Sun Life NY where she built a block of business that exceeded expectations at a time when Sun Life was a new competitor in the New York market. This gained her consistent recognition as one of the top 10 sales representatives nationwide. Her vast market experience with Long Term Disability, New York State Disability/Short Term Disability and Life & Accidental Death & Dismemberment afforded her to penetrate the large account group market (1,000+) as well as the mid-size group market.

She accredits her sales success to her prior employment with UNUM as an Account Representative where she was highly proficient with benefit contract provisions and was involved with large case sales and underwriting practices. In a customer service capacity, she was awarded for case persistency and premium growth. She has also served in the Human Resource Benefits capacity for TIAA-CREF.

Prior to re-entering the employee benefits market she served as President of the Huguenot Street Cooperative Nursery School where she successfully lead fund-raising initiatives and was a principle figure in community and business relations.

Rose has three children and enjoys her active life in New Paltz with her husband, Dennis. In addition, she continues to be involved in various community projects.


Luke Strothenke is a SUNY Cortland graduate and a licensed agent for life accident and health insurance in the State of New York at Mid-Hudson VIP. In 2015, Luke graduated from SUNY Cortland as a 4-year student athlete with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Upon graduation, Luke was immediately recruited to work for Automatic Data Processing (ADP) as a Small Business Services representative where he provided employee benefits, payroll and human resource solutions to small business owners in the Hudson Valley. As an ADP representative, Luke specialized in analyzing a business’s current suite of services, and worked alongside business owners to streamline those services with ADP Employee Solutions. In 2016, Luke was recruited by Mid-Hudson VIP to come work with his father Paul at the family business. At just 25 years old, Luke has already proven himself to be an integrity driven, hardworking business consultant and an asset to the agency. Backed by his experience at ADP, and his father’s nearly 30 years of experience in the health insurance industry, Luke is committed to providing his clients with benefit solutions that best suit the needs employers and individuals alike. Luke understands that when it comes to purchasing insurance, everyone’s level of need and risk are a little bit different. Subsequently, Luke approaches every new business opportunity with an open mind and provides a multitude of solutions from a variety of different carriers.
